During its development, the Windows operating system has gone through many versions. Famous and familiar to most Vietnamese users is probably Windows 98, Windows XP and Windows 7. But there are also strange versions such as Windows 10 N, so what is Windows 10 N?
Versions of Windows 10
Windows 10 Home is designed for PCs, tablets. It includes all the features aimed at the individual consumer. Windows 10 Home is equivalent to Windows 8, 8.1, Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic, and Home Premium.
Windows 10 Pro can be considered as equivalent to Windows 8 Pro, Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate. It is the Home edition that adds the features needed for small business objects, and features the equivalent of Windows 8.1 Pro, and users can not go back to the Home edition.
Not an early part of Windows, this version was introduced in July 2016 for hardware partners on new devices with K-12 academy licenses having stopped. It introduces a Set Up School PCs app and does not come with Cortana, a Windows Store suggestion, and tips and tricks for Windows 10.
There is also a Windows 10 for Workstation version for workstations but no Enterprise edition.
Windows 10 Enterprise for Enterprise offers all the features of Windows 10 Pro, with additional features to support technology organizations, and features comparable to Windows 8.1 Enterprise.
Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 LTSB (Long Term Servicing Branch – roughly translated Branch Long Term Service ) with key features like Windows 10 Enterprise but omitted Cortana, Store and all Windows applications Metro net. This special edition will not receive any updates and will allow companies more control over the update process.
Windows 10 Education provides all the features of Windows 10 Enterprise, designed to work in schools and universities. It will be available with Microsoft’s Academic Volume Licensing program, similar to Windows 8.1 Enterprise.
Windows 10 Mobile is designed for smartphones and small tablets. It includes all the basic consumer features, including the Continuum feature. It is the de facto successor version of Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows RT.
Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise offers all the features of Windows Mobile 10, with additional features supporting technology organizations, similar to Windows 8.1 Enterprise, but optimized for mobile devices.
Versions N and KN
Windows versions 10 additional distributors for the European market, Sweden, and South Korea (version for Korea as “KN”) with the letter “N” (which stands for Not with Media Player – No includes Media Player ) is the suffix after the version name (eg Windows 10 Enterprise N) and does not include media technologies such as Windows Media Player or Camera. All versions of Windows 10 have N versions except Mobile, Mobile Enterprise, and IoT Core. Microsoft was required to create the “N” version of Windows after the European Commission ruled in 2004 that a version of Windows without Windows Media Player was required. The price of the N versions is the same as the full version, when the “Media Feature Pack” package can be downloaded for free from Microsoft.
These versions do not have the following features:

- CD Audio
- Digital media file
- DVD Video
- Organize content in the media library
- Create a playlist
- Convert audio CDs to digital media files
- View artist information and the title of the media file
- View the album art of the music file
- Transfer music to your personal music player
- Record and playback TV shows
- Internet Explorer does not include replay:
- Live streams
- Digital Rights Management (DRM)
You can still add missing features with third-party software or with Media Feature Pack, Groove Music and Xbox Video from Microsoft.
