How to disable Recent Items history in Windows 10

When you open the Start menu on Windows 10 users will see the system lists the applications that you regularly use. This will be quite useful as we can quickly launch favorite applications, frequently used. To get this list, Windows will keep track of activities that open applications during the time you use your computer, to make recommendations.

However, many people do not want Windows to track daily open applications. Or if you share a computer, you do not want all your activities monitored by others. The following article will guide you through how to uninstall app launcher in Windows 10.

Option 1: Turn off track open application via Windows Settings

Step 1:

Press Windows + I to open the Windows Settings interface and click Privacy.

Step 2:

In the General section look to the right to find Let Windows tracks app launches to improve Start and search results. Switch from On to Off to keep track of open applications on your computer.

Option 2: Un-open the application through the Windows Registry

Step 1:

Hit the Windows + R combination to open the Run dialog box and enter the regedit keyword to access.

Step 2:

Next in the Registry Editor interface, users access the following path.

Step 3:

When you click on Advanced then looking to the right will see the list of values. Find the Start_TrackProgs value.

Without this value right-click on the blank area in the right pane, select New , and then click DWORD (32 bit) Value.

Name the new value Start_TrackProgs.

Step 4:

Double-click the Start_TrackProgs value in the interface and set the value to 0 at Value data. Press OK to change. So you have turned off the app launch monitoring mode on Windows 10.

In case you want to re-enable the app tracker you just change the value from 0 to 1 and click OK to save.

Here are two ways to turn off track history app launching in Windows 10. Keeping track of frequently used applications on Windows 10 is not really necessary. It sometimes reveals your personal activities if you share your computer with others.
