How to Disable/Enable startup programs in Windows

One of the solutions to speeding up Windows 10 at startup is to turn off startup programs alongside the system. By default, some programs like Skype, Evernote, and TeamViewer will start automatically on the same system.

On Windows 7 and earlier, to remove or disable startup programs on the same system, you can use the System Configuration utility. On Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10, to remove or disable these programs you must use Task Manager. Here are some ways to turn off startup programs with Windows 10, which will speed up your Windows 10 startup.

1. Use Task Manager

Step 1 :

Open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc . Alternatively, right-click anywhere in the taskbar and then click Task Manager.

Step 2 :

On the Task Manager window, click the More detail button .

Step 3 :

Next, click the Startup tab .

Step 4 :

Here right-click on the program you want to stop the system boot Windows 10, then click Disable.

If you want to enable startup program in Windows, do the same. Right-click on the program you want to enable startup, then click Enable.

Disable startup programs from the Startup folder

The shortcut of the programs that start with Windows 10 is stored in a folder called Startup. You can remove program shortcuts in this Startup folder to prevent startup programs from running on your system.

Step 1 :

Open the Run command window by pressing the Windows + R key combination.

Step 2 :

On the Run command, type shell: startup and press Enter to open the Startup folder.

Step 3:

Select the program shortcut that you want to remove from the startup programs on the system on Windows 10 and then press the Delete key to delete.

3. Use CCleaner

Step 1 :

Download CCleaner to your PC and install.

Step 2 :

Next, open CCleaner that you just installed, then click Tools and then click Startup .

Step 3 :

On the Windows tab, select the programs you want to remove from the startup programs at the same time, and then click Disable.
