How can turn off background wallpaper on Windows 10 to show the image always have the highest quality?
Unlike macOS, which always displays the highest quality desktop background, Windows 10 gives priority to performance, so by default the images set as desktop backgrounds will be compressed. This is bad in case you use a high resolution screen and do not get a good quality background image. Here are steps to turn off this mode on Windows 10.
Step 1: Press WIN + R to open the Run dialog box, type regedit and press ENTER to open the Registry Editor.
Step 2: Before the changes, you can perform registry backup. Then go to ComputerHKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop.
Step 3: Right click on the right view>select New>DWORD (32-bitr) Value and name this item JPEGImportQuality.
Step 4: Double click on the newly created item, Base is Decimal, then type Value data is 100 then OK.
Once you’re done, restart your computer and replace with another wallpaper, the image will no longer be compressed.
Note that this operation does not affect anything if you use a relatively powerful computer. However, if you use a machine with a slightly weak configuration should not use the above tips because it will make the machine a little heavier because the desktop image is original, not optimized.
