How to adjust screen brightness on Windows 7
1. Use the Brightness slider (on the laptop)
Note: This method only applies on Laptop
Step 1: Click the Power Options icon in the System Tray. This icon is like a laptop battery icon. If the Power Options icon does not appear in the system tray, on the Start Menu open the Control Panel , then select Power Options.
Step 2: Click the Adjust screen brightness link to open the Power Options window.
Step 3: Adjust the screen brightness as you like on the slider at the bottom of the screen. You can adjust the screen brightness to extend your laptop battery life.
2. Restore the Brightness Slider lost (on the laptop)
Step 1: Click Start Menu then type .devmgmt.msc in the Search box, and then press Enter to open Device Manager. At Device Manager you can control and adjust all the hardware settings on your laptop. The missing Brightness Slider (brightness slider) may be due to a software error or a driver error, which you can control on the monitor.
Step 2: Expand Monitor. On the screen you can see the list of different items including Disk drives, display adapters, keyboards … Click on the arrow next to expand Monitor.

3. Use f.lux to adjust Monitor (for both Laptop and PC)
Step 1: Download f.lux. f.lux is a program that automatically adjusts color based on the time of day and the light in your room. The program can adjust the brightness of your screen more easily at night.
Step 2: After downloading f.lux, double click on the installation file to install the program.
Step 3: Choose your location. f.lux uses your location to automatically switch colors on the screen when the sun rises and the sun goes down in the area you live in.
